Welcome To Our Back Yard!

In the summer of 2007,  good friends gave us a bird feeder and some feed as  a gift.  We took the feeder home and attached it to the bottom of our deck.  Wewatched eagerly through the sliding glass door in our basement for several days as the feeder went unnoticed.  After a week or so, a little nuthatch landed on the feeder and that was all it took for my wife and I to enter the wonderful world of bird watching.

We now have 5 different feeders (not counting the 2 hummingbird feeders we put out in the spring) in our small backyard and are delighted by the variety of birds and other occasional visitors, to our sanctuary.  Each time an unfamiliar bird lands in our yard, everything stops while we grab our bird books and study it's colors and song.

Please enjoy as we build our site and add pictures and video clips of our backyard visitors; write about the goings on of our fine feathered friends and other wild life; and add a live webcam so visitors can see the happenings at our feeders.
